Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
You don't have to. The quote tool needs just six pieces of information: your gender, birth date, general health status, whether you use tobacco, the coverage amount you want, and the term length. That's all that's required to pull quotes from carriers. If you decide to apply, you'll then provide your name, address, and more detailed health information.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
These are what the carriers quote for the health class you indicated. When you apply, the carrier will underwrite your application and may confirm, upgrade, or downgrade your health class, which changes the final premium you pay. The prices shown here are not an offer or a guarantee—they are estimates for comparison purposes.
What happens when I click Apply?
You enter your name, and we create the application based on the specific quote you selected. From there, you move into the carriers' encrypted application system, where you can pause and return later without losing your progress. You'll sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed agency (License 0B75129), manages the entire application process.
Will I need a medical exam?
That depends on which carrier, how much coverage you're seeking, and what you told us about your health. Some carriers—those labeled Immediate coverage—can make a decision on the spot for qualified applicants. Each quote on the site tells you whether that carrier requires an exam, might require one, or won't need one.
Is a longer term better?
Pick the term that covers the period when your death would hurt your household financially—years when there's a mortgage, kids to put through school, or a business counting on your work. Longer terms cost more each month but lock your rate in longer. You can see how the math works for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-year terms all at once.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool doesn't ask for your contact information, we don't sell or share what we learn about you, and we measure site activity without cookies. The privacy page has the full accounting of what information is gathered and who gathers it.
